Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using SplitPay, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

Service Description

SplitPay is a decentralized platform that enables users to:

• Create payment splits on the Base blockchain
• Accept payments in ETH and USDC
• Share payment links with participants via email or direct link
• Invite participants by email without requiring their wallet address upfront
• Pay on behalf of other participants
• Track payment status on-chain
• Use credit cards via Stripe Crypto Onramp integration

Platform Fees

SplitPay charges a platform fee of 0.5% on completed splits:

• Fees are automatically deducted when all participants have paid
• No fees are charged if a split is cancelled or expires
• Fees are non-refundable once a split is completed

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information when creating splits
• Secure your wallet and private keys
• Verify payment amounts and recipient addresses before confirming
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Not use the service for illegal activities
• Pay gas fees for blockchain transactions
• Understand that email-based deposit addresses are deterministic and derived from email hashes
• Verify the correct participant is selected when paying on behalf of others

Blockchain Transactions

Important considerations:

• All transactions are recorded on the public blockchain
• Transactions are irreversible once confirmed
• We cannot reverse or refund blockchain transactions
• You are responsible for verifying transaction details
• Gas fees are separate from platform fees

Disclaimer of Warranties

SplitPay is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Specific transaction confirmation times
• Protection against smart contract vulnerabilities
• Recovery of lost funds or private keys

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SplitPay shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the service.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
